October 2018 Recap
October 2018 was a busy month for us at Surf City Still Works!
WE TOOK A BREAK
Have you ever been to Jackson, WY? If not, make sure to add it to your bucket list because it is spectacular! We make sure to go there once a year, and this time we made a road trip out of it. We stayed in Jackson for a couple days, drove NW out of Yellowstone into Montana (visited Willie’s Distillery), stopped at Sandpoint & Coeur d’Alene, ID, Bend, OR, and finally Tahoe City, CA before driving through beautiful Mammoth on our way home to SoCal. That was A LOT of driving but it was amazing to be on roads in the middle of nowhere (literally) and drive for hours before seeing another car.

A&O KITCHEN & BAR
Ben Carpenter at A&O Kitchen & Bar was the first to bring us into his bar program and has been so supportive of our new distillery. We have been extremely blessed to know Ben and to now be part of his new “California Distilled” cocktail menu.
If you remember the cocktails we launched with in the Summer, Ben & his team were the ones who developed our menu for us. We highly recommend that you pay them a visit to try our their new cocktails…they will not disappoint.

ARTWORK FOR SALE
We have received so much positive feedback regarding the artwork on our bottles.
The artist behind Shorebreak Vodka’s vibrant HB Dazzle is Sam Bernal, and we have a 20″x16″ metal print available to purchase through our tasting room ($160).
The artist behind California Gin is Melissa Murphy, and we have metal & canvas prints available to purchase ($50).
Stay tuned for a custom painted surf board to be on display and for sale soon! Melissa will be live painting the board in November.
CRAFT COCKTAILS 101
Success! We hosted our first cocktail class on October 24th and we had a blast. We went through the basics of distilling, what makes up different types of cocktails, and had everyone make 3 cocktails while following our instruction.
The feedback has been great and we look forward to the next class on December 1st!
