If you’re looking for a super sugary & neon green cocktail for St. Paddy’s, you won’t find it here as we like to keep it a bit more classy. We found this recipe through Gourmade in the Kitchen and love how they went against the grain with a new twist on both the classic Apple Martini & St. Patrick’s Day’s neon cocktails. There is prep time involved so make sure you have all of the ingredients (especially our Shorebreak Vodka) before you begin. Cheers!
Apple Ginger Martini Ingredients (for two servings):
4oz Ginger Infused Shorebreak Vodka (recipe below)
4oz Fresh Green Apple Lime Juice (recipe below)
1 TBSP Maple Syrup -or- Honey Simple Syrup (made by mixing equal parts of maple syrup or honey with filtered water until fully dissolved)
Apple Slices for garnish (optional)
Ginger Infused Shorebreak Vodka Ingredients:
1/2c. Shorebreak Vodka
1 inch piece Fresh Ginger (peeled & grated)
Green Apple & Lime Juice Ingredients:
1 large Tart Green Apple (cored & sliced) (i.e. Granny Smith)
1/4c. Filtered Water
1 large -or- 2 small Limes (juiced)
Place cocktail glasses into the freezer to chill.
Make the Ginger Infused Shorebreak Vodka by placing the Vodka in a resealable jar along with the grated ginger and seal. Shake gently and set aside for 2 or more hours. The longer it sits the stronger it gets. Once infused, strain and press on the ginger solids to extract all of the liquid. Set aside.
Next, make the Green Apple & Lime Juice by adding the apple slices, water & lime juice to a high speed blender. Blend on high until smooth. Strain through a fine mesh strainer and press on the pulp to extract the remaining juice.
Finally, make the Apple Ginger Martini by adding the infused Shorebreak Vodka, apple & lime juice, and maple syrup to a cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker half way with ice and shake vigorously until the shaker turns frosty. Strain into your chilled glasses, and garnish with the reserved apple slices (if desired).
